Impressions of New York
New York Cityhas three main architectural
styles that have grown present over the years. The main style that was much more
present many years ago was the Neo-Classical style of the late
19thcentury going into the early 20th century. This style was very detailed and
grand. There were many buildings
built at this time that is still around to this day.
Many of these buildings are some of the oldest standing structures in the
world. My personal opinion is
that these structures could possibly be the best looking pieces of art in the
world. The next major architecture
is art-deco styling many of the buildings built just after the depression is of
this shape and style. The styling
of the buildings in New York City have evolved
with time as people migrated to New
Yorkthe image of the City has also
changed.

Quixotic Queens
NY public library has been the people's palace of triumph and
glory since 1911. The Rose reading
room is the length of a football field.
3 architectural styles:
Neo-Classical Art Deco (1930's) Neo-Gothic
Contemporary Skyscrapers. Grand
central terminal with its grand concourse and vaulted ceiling is a one of a kind
experience. Grand Central is the
largest train station in world. In
the 1950's- the automobile changed everything and Robert Moses became a
visionary to the New York landscape not for the better. 1960 Penn station was destroyed and
they went after GC but Jackie Onassis Kennedy stopped the demolition of GC
terminal and made the preservation of it (needed to appreciate it and bring it
back to its glory) On the grand inside of Grand Central Zodiac sign ceiling -
